چکیده

This paper describes an effort to foster the availability of Human Behavior Models / Performance Moderator Functions (HBM/PMFs) that the modeling and simulation community can use to increase the realism of their human behavior models. HBM/PMFs quantify the impact of human performance to internal and external stressors, and help to capture the role of personality and individual differences. To facilitate that process, we are creating a web-based anthology of HBM/PMFs that abstracts many 100s of them from diverse literatures, maps them into a taxonomy and common mathematical framework suitable for implementation, and assesses their validity and reuse issues. This paper reports on progress to date, anthology construction issues, and lessons learned. Comments Postprint version. Presented at 10th Conference on Computer Generated Forces and Behavioral Representation, SISO, May 2001, 9 pages. Author(s) Barry G. Challenges and Perspectives toward Development of more Effective Influenza Vaccine

Influenza viruses continue to be a major health threat in human and bird populations. The improvements in formulation and production level of the current influenza vaccines are not sufficient to afford complete protection. The continuous antigenic drifts and emergence of endemic and zoonotic strains make influenza vaccine planning difficult. Concern about the emergence of new influenza pandemic...

Modeling Physical Variability for Synthetic MOUT Agents

Generating behavioral variability is an important prerequisite in the development of synthetic MOUT (Military Operations in Urban Terrain) agents for military simulations. Agents that lack variability are predictable and ineffective as opponents and teammates for human trainees. Along with cognitive differences, physical differences contribute towards behavioral variability. In this paper, we d...

Development and application of a new sensitive spectrophotometric-multivariate calibration method to the simultaneous determination of hydrazine and acetylhydrazine using silver nanoparticles

In this paper, multivariate calibration methods of partial least squares (PLS) and principle component regression (PCR) were investigated in simultaneously determination of hydrazine (HZ) and acetylhydrazine (AHZ). The aforementioned methods are based on formation of the silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) from the reaction of HZ and AHZ with Ag+ ions as oxidizing agent in the presence of citrate ions...

Learning Executable Models of Multiagent Behavior from Live Animal Observation

Agent-based simulation is a valuable tool for biologists studying animal behavior, however constructing models for simulation is often a time-consuming manual task. Predictive probabilistic graphical models have shown success in classifying behavior, but are not easily translated into models that can be executed in a multi-agent simulation. We propose a novel behavior representation and method ...
